Faulty fuel payouts top £9m

The compensation bill for motorists who loaded with contaminated fuel in south-east England in Feb has capped £9m.The unleaded gas, which originated from a contaminated storage tank in a distribution depot in Kent, contained plastic. This broken the oxygen sensors (or lambda sensors) in lots of cars’ exhausts, which controls the fuel/air ratio. The fuel was offered at Tesco, Asda and Morrisons gas stations. Around 25,000 individuals are thought to happen to be affected, and also the final bill will probably top £10 million.
