Ginetta launches entry-level race series

Ginetta will launch its new Ginetta Racing Drivers Club at today’s Salon Prive show.

Described as an all-inclusive package for drivers with limited track experience, the Ginetta Racing Drivers Club provides competitors with a road-legal Ginetta G40R with 12 months’ tax, a complete ARDS race license package and two-days of one-to-one race tuition.

Membership of the club includes entry into four race weekends in support of the British GT championship. Each event includes test and qualifying sessions and two sprint races.

The Leeds-based manufacturer says it is committed to ensuring parity between competitors. Professional teams are banned from the championship, while Ginetta will send personnel to each race weekend to provide spares and technical support.

Ginetta boss Lawrence Tomlinson is keen to emphasise the social aspect of the GRDC. Customers are invited to join the company at a number of social events throughout the year, from golf days to a Le Mans trip.

Ginetta faces tough competition from other British manufacturers, with the Radical SR1 Cup, Ariel Atom Cup and Caterham Academy offering similar packages. The Ginetta Racing Drivers Club will cost £24,250 plus VAT.

Isn&1quo;t the point of the agreement with the CLC so they don&1quo;t have to do the lice1ing with all teams?
