Next BMW 6-series spied
The next generation BMW 6-series convertible, which retains the folding soft-top, has been spied testing.
The new BMW 6-series coupe and its convertible variant will be based on the new 5-series platform and are expected to first appear at next year’s Geneva show.

Never be misled through the similar appearance, all of the sections around the next 6-series is going to be new. BMW has selected to stay having a fabric roof since it increases the center of gravity and keeps weight low.
The brand new BMW 6-series’ engines is going to be attracted in the 5-series they’ll be mildly modified versions of today’s six-cylinder petrols and diesels, and V8 petrols. The large-selling powerplants would be the 3.-litre gas (630i) and twin-turbo 3.-litre diesel (635d).
The following 6-series would be the introduction of ZF’s new eight-speed automatic transmission. It will likely be able to running with stop-start systems, the very first time the vehicle has already established this ability. Combined with BMW’s Efficient Dynamics, this will boost economy and cut pollutants.
BMW is shortening the launch gaps for M models, and also the new M6 won’t be any exception. M6 sales are expected to begin by early 2011.
Expect a significant change underneath the M6’s bonnet, in which a new twin turbocharged V8 engine will replace today’s V10.
